DTC Troubleshooting: P0101(2.0L Engine): Inspection

Intake Air System, PCV System Visual Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Check the condition at the connections or for any damage at the following:

    PCV valve

    PCV hose

    Air cleaner

    Intake air duct

    Purge (PCS) line

    All parts through the turbocharger joint to the throttle body

• Normal Conditions
• • Conditions at the connections are OK, and there is no damages.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a failure with the intake air system and/or the PCV system component(s).

Intake Air Duct, Air Cleaner Housing Visual Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Check the condition at the connections or for any blockage at the following:

    intake air duct

    Air cleaner housing

• Normal Conditions
• • Conditions at the connections are OK, and there is no blockages.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a failure with the intake air system component(s).

MAF Sensor Functional Inspection (1) 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure

• -

  Confirm the HDS [MAF Sensor] while the engine is stopped.

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [MAF Sensor] indicates 520 - 10000 Hz  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAF sensor/IAT sensor 1.

MAF Sensor Functional Inspection (2) 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure

• Start the engine and let it idle.
• Confirm the HDS [MAF Sensor].

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [MAF Sensor] indicates 520 - 10000 Hz  .

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAF sensor/IAT sensor 1.
