DTC Troubleshooting: P0345(3.0L Engine): Inspection

VCC9, CAMINB2, SG9 Circuit Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation

    CMP sensor A (Bank 2) 3P connector: disconnected

  • -

    PCM connector E (114P): disconnected

• Procedure
• • -

    Perform the inspection according to the following table.

	VCC9 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	CAMINB2 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	SG9 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	VCC9, CAMINB2 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	CAMINB2, SG9 shorted wire to wire inspection	OFF			There is more than 1 MOhm
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	CAMINB2 shorted to power inspection	ON			Not shorted
	CAMINB2 shorted to ground inspection	OFF			Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

CMP Sensor A (Bank 2) Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Install a known-good CMP sensor A (Bank 2) and attempt to reproduce the failure.

Results 

• If the failure is reproduced, there is a problem with other related components.
• If the symptom/DTC goes away, CMP sensor A (Bank 2) must be faulty.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item(s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
