DTC Troubleshooting: P16E3 (3.0L Engine): Inspection

+B_BATT_SNSR, LIN (METER) Circuit Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector: disconnected
  • Heated steering wheel control unit 14P connector (with heated steering wheel system): disconnected
  • Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector: disconnected
  • Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector female terminals	(Disconnected) Gauge control module connector A (32P) female terminals

	+B_BATT_SNSR circuit inspection	OFF			12 V battery voltage [circuit type 1]
	LIN (METER) open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances.
	LIN (METER) shorted to ground inspection	OFF			Not shorted

Results 

• If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

  If the power supply inspection of the above table showed abnormally, do the additional Power Supply Inspection , to locate the failure.

Components Connected to LIN (METER) Circuit Inspection 

Preconditions 

• External circuit is normal

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector: disconnected
  • Heated steering wheel control unit 14P connector (with heated steering wheel system): disconnected
  • Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector: disconnected
  • Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
• Procedure

  Perform the inspection according to the following table and while reconnecting these connectors, one at a time:

• • Heated steering wheel control unit 14P connector (with heated steering wheel system)
  • Audio remote-HFL Switch 16P connector
  • Gauge control module connector A (32P)

			(Disconnected) 12 volt battery sensor 2P connector female terminals

	LIN (METER) shorted to parts inspection	OFF		Not shorted

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the part that has shorted when it was reconnected.

12 Volt Battery Sensor Circuit Inspection 

Preconditions 

• External circuit is normal

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • Heated steering wheel control unit 14P connector (with heated steering wheel system): disconnected
  • Audio remote-HFL switch 16P connector: disconnected
  • Gauge control module connector A (32P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected) Gauge control module connector A (32P) female terminals

	12 volt battery sensor internal circuit inspection	OFF		Not shorted

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the 12 volt battery sensor.

Gauge Control Module Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item (s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining gauge control module is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the gauge control module.
