DTC Troubleshooting: P2073 (2.0L Engine): Inspection

Vacuum Line Visual Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Procedure
• • Check for vacuum leaks at these parts:

    Intake air duct

    Intake manifold

    PCV valve

    PCV hose

    Purge (PCS) hose

    EVAP canister purge valve

    Throttle body

    All parts through the turbocharger joint to the throttle body.

• Normal Conditions
• • There is no leaks.

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the intake air system, PCV system and/or the EVAP system component (s).

MAP Sensor Functional Inspection (1) 

Preconditions 

• Intake air system, PCV system, vacuum line visual inspection is normal

Test Procedure 

• Procedure

• Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
• Confirm the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] and HDS [TC Boost Pressure].

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] and HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value differ less than 26.7 kPa (7.9 inHg, 200 mmHg) 

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the MAP sensor.

MAP Sensor Functional Inspection (2) 

Preconditions 

• Intake air system, PCV system, vacuum line visual inspection is normal

Test Procedure 

• Procedure

• Note the value of MAP Sensor (Hi Res) in the DATA LIST with the HDS.
• Start the engine and let it idle.
• Confirm the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)].

• Normal Conditions
• • HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] changes more than 0.67 kPa (0.2 inHg, 5 mmHg) 

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the MAP sensor.
