DTC Troubleshooting: P2118 (3.0L Engine): Inspection

MTR1, MTR2 Open Inspection 

NOTICE: 

Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
  • PCM connector E (114P): disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

	MTR1 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm
	MTR2 open wire inspection	OFF			There is less than 1 Ohm

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.

Throttle Body Component Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• Preparation
• • Throttle body 6P connector: disconnected
• Procedure
• • Perform the inspection according to the following table.

			(Disconnected)Throttle body 6P connectormale terminals

	Throttle body internal circuit inspection	OFF		Less than about 1.0 kOhm

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the throttle body.

PCM Inspection 

Test Procedure 

• If the other inspection item (s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.

Results 

• There is a problem with the PCM.
