DTC Troubleshooting: P2122 (2.0L Engine): Inspection
APP Sensor Inspection
NOTE:
Since there is no direct method to test the component itself, troubleshooting is performed on the related components.
Test Procedure
Unit output voltage inspection
- Preparation
-
- APP sensor 6P connector: disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Jump APP sensor 6P connector terminals No. 4 and No. 6 with a jumper wire.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Confirm the HDS [APP Sensor A Voltage].
| (Disconnected)APP sensor 6P connectorfemale terminals | |
|
|
- Normal Conditions
-
- HDS [APP Sensor A Voltage] value is more than 0.2 V .
Results
- If it is normal, there is a problem with the accelerator pedal module.
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with other related components.
VCC4, APS1 Circuit Inspection
NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the PCM connector, jump the SCS line with the HDS, and wait more than 1 minute.
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- APP sensor 6P connector: disconnected
- PCM connector A (50P): disconnected
- Procedure
-
- Perform the inspection according to the following table.
| (Disconnected)APP sensor 6P connectorfemale terminals | (Disconnected) PCM connector A (50P) - Refer to: PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (3.0L Engine) or PCM Connector for Inputs and Outputs (2.0L Engine) female terminals | ||||
| IG Mode |
|
|
Normal Conditions | ||
| APS1 open wire inspection | OFF | There is less than 1 Ohm | |||
| VCC4 open wire inspection | OFF | There is less than 1 Ohm | |||
| NOTE: Refer to the Open/Shorted Wire Inspection Description for the method to inspect the shorted circuit below, then start to inspect according to circumstances. | |||||
| APS1 shorted to ground inspection | OFF | Not shorted | |||
Results
- If abnormal, there is a problem in the circuit.
PCM Inspection
Test Procedure
- If the other inspection item (s) indicated a normal condition, then it is determined that the remaining PCM is the cause.
Results
- There is a problem with the PCM.
