DTC Troubleshooting: P2175 (2.0L Engine): Inspection
Intake Air Duct, Air Cleaner Housing Visual Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
-
- Check the condition at the connections or for any blockage at the following:
intake air duct
Air cleaner housing
- Check the condition at the connections or for any blockage at the following:
- Normal Conditions
-
- Conditions at the connections are OK, and there is no blockages.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the intake air system component (s).
IAT sensor 1 Functional Inspection
Preconditions
- Engine is cold condition (ambient temperature)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
-
- Note the ambient temperature.
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Quickly note the HDS [IAT Sensor (1)].
- Compare the HDS [IAT Sensor (1)] value to the recorded ambient temperature.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The difference between the HDS [IAT Sensor (1)] value and the ambient temperature is less than 5.4 deg.F (3 deg.C) .
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAF sensor/IAT sensor 1.
MAF Sensor Functional Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Start the engine, and let it idle.
- Make sure the following conditions are met:
-
- HDS [ECT Sensor 1] above 158 deg.F (70 deg.C)
- Transmission in P or N
- All engine and electrical loads turned off
- Monitor the HDS [Engine Speed] and hold the engine speed at 2, 500 rpm for 30 seconds.
- Confirm the HDS [MAF Sensor] while holding the engine speed at 2, 500 rpm.
- Normal Conditions
-
- HDS [MAF Sensor] value is between 7.6 g/s and 10.7 g/s
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAF sensor/IAT sensor 1.
MAP Sensor Functional Inspection (1)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Compare the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] value to the HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The difference between the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] value and the HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value is less than 26.7 kPa (7.9 inHg, 200 mmHg)
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAP sensor.
MAP Sensor Functional Inspection (2)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Note the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] value.
- Start the engine, and let it idle.
- Compare the HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] value with the noted value.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The HDS [MAP Sensor (Hi Res)] value changes 0.67 kPa (0.2 inHg, 5 mmHg) or more from the noted value.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with MAP sensor.
Turbocharger Boost Sensor Functional Inspection (1)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Compare the HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value to the HDS [Baro Sensor] value.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The difference between the HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value and the HDS [Baro Sensor] value is less than 26.7 kPa (7.9 inHg, 200 mmHg) .
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the turbocharger boost sensor.
Turbocharger Boost Sensor Functional Inspection (2)
Test Procedure
- Procedure
- Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
- Note the value of HDS [TC Boost Pressure].
- Start the engine.
- Hold the engine speed at 3, 000 rpm without load (in P or N) until the radiator fan comes on, then let it idle.
- Hold the engine speed at 4, 500 rpm without load.
- Confirm the HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value with the noted value.
- Normal Conditions
-
- The HDS [TC Boost Pressure] value changes 0.67 kPa (0.2 inHg, 5 mmHg) or more from the noted value.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the turbocharger boost sensor.
Throttle Body Functional Inspection
Test Procedure
- Procedure
-
- Do the HDS [ETCS (TAC) TEST].
- Normal Conditions
-
- The THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL VALVE indicates normal.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the throttle body.
Throttle Body Visual Inspection
Test Procedure
- Preparation
-
- Throttle body inlet hose: disconnected from the throttle body
- Procedure
-
- Do the throttle body cleaning - Refer to: Throttle Body Carbon Accumulation Check or Throttle Body Cleaning .
- Check the throttle valve and bore for dirts, carbons, or damages.
- Normal Conditions
-
- There is no dirts, carbons, or damages.
Results
- If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the throttle body.
