General Description

The transmission control module (TCM) judges the parking position by the output voltage from the parking actuator valve stroke sensor. The TCM monitors the parking actuator valve stroke sensor output voltage, and when the output voltage is a specified value for a specified duration, the TCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC.

Monitor Execution, Sequence, Duration, DTC Type

Execution Continuous
Sequence None
Duration 0.5 second or more
DTC Type One drive cycle, MIL off, shift position indicator blinks

Enable Conditions

Condition Minimum Maximum
12 volt battery voltage [Battery Voltage] 10 V -
IG1 terminal voltage 10 V -
Vehicle ON mode
Other No abnormality in sensor supply (VCC2)

[ ]: HDS Parameter

Malfunction Threshold

DTC: P07B9

The parking actuator valve stroke sensor B output voltage is less than 0.1 V for at least 0.5 second.

DTC: P07BA

The parking actuator valve stroke sensor B output voltage is more than 4.91 V for at least 0.5 second.

Possible Cause

NOTE: The causes shown may not be a complete list of all potential problems, and it is possible that there may be other causes.

Confirmation Procedure

Operating Condition

Turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and wait for at least 5 seconds.

Diagnosis Details

Conditions for setting the DTC

When a malfunction is detected, the shift position indicator blinks and a Pending DTC, a Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data are stored in the TCM memory. The MIL does not come on.

Conditions for clearing the DTC

The shift position indicator comes off by turning the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode. The Pending DTC, the Confirmed DTC, and the freeze data can be cleared with the scan tool clear command.
