Adaptive Damper System Symptom Troubleshooting Index

HDS does not communicate with the adaptive damper control unit or the vehicle Troubleshoot the DLC circuit - Refer to: Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN BUS-OFF (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) (3.0L Engine) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - HDS does not communicate with the vehicle or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS with Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN BUS-OFF (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS without Connection to CAN Gateway) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - F-CAN Lost Communication (CAN BUS with Connection to CAN Gateway) (3.0L Engine) or Network Communications Symptom Troubleshooting - B-CAN Lost Communication .  
Adaptive damper system warning does not go off, and no DTCs are stored
NOTE: If any of the CAN communication failure DTC is indicated in other system, troubleshooting the DTC first.
  • Check for open wire or shorted wire in the F-CAN circuit;
    • -

      Between the gauge control module and the CAN gateway (IF-CAN_H, IF-CAN_L)

    • -

      Between the adaptive damper control unit and the CAN gateway (VF-CAN B_H, VF-CAN B_L)

  • Check the adaptive damper control unit power circuit (+B_ADS, IG1_OPTION)
  • Check the adaptive damper control unit ground circuit (GND)
  • Do the gauge control module self-diagnostic function .
