Fuel System - Check Delivery Pressure

  1. Open the fuse box lid in the engine compartment and remove fuse F21 (20 A) from the electric fuel pump.
  2. Start-up several times until all the pressure in the fuel distribution manifold has discharged.
  3. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  7. Refit the previously removed fuel electric pump supply fuse in its housing.
  8. Turn ignition key to MAR-ON and check within 3 seconds that fuel pressure on the pressure gauge is within the prescribed values.
  9. Start the engine, let it warm up and check that the pressure is within the prescribed values.
    Size Value
Fuel pressure (ignition ON) 3.5 bar
Fuel pressure (idle rpm) 3.0 bar
    Fuel flow requirement (80 - 3500 rpm) 52 ml/s
    NOTE:

Before disconnecting the tools, depressurise the fuel distribution manifold as described at the beginning of the procedure.

  10. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
