Upper Control Arms
NOTE:
Removal process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.
Removal
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove front anti-roll bar joint. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove front strut. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Undo the fixing nuts (1a) and remove the upper control arm (1b).
Installation
NOTE:
Installation process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.
NOTE:
The refitting procedure must be carried out in "Standard A" conditions: vehicle empty including spare wheel, tools, accessories and consumables (full tank of fuel).
- Fit the upper control arm (1a) in its housing and tighten the fixing nuts (1b).
Component Fixing Dia Value (Nm) Upper control arm (to body) Nut M10x1.5 55 + 45° - Install front strut. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install front anti-roll bar joint. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Remove the car from the lift.
- Perform Front End Alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
