Upper Control Arms

NOTE:

Removal process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.

Removal

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove front anti-roll bar joint. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Remove front strut. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  5. Undo the fixing nuts (1a) and remove the upper control arm (1b).

Installation 

NOTE:

Installation process is the same for both sides of the vehicle.

NOTE:

The refitting procedure must be carried out in "Standard A" conditions: vehicle empty including spare wheel, tools, accessories and consumables (full tank of fuel).

  1. Fit the upper control arm (1a) in its housing and tighten the fixing nuts (1b).

    Upper control arm (to body) Nut M10x1.5 55 + 45°
  2. Install front strut. Refer to STRUT, SUSPENSION, ASSEMBLY, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Install front anti-roll bar joint. Refer to LINK, STABILIZER BAR, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  4. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Remove the car from the lift.
  6. Perform Front End Alignment. Refer to WHEEL ALIGNMENT, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
