Removal And Installation: 2.0L

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

3. Remove the heat shield nut (1a).
4. Remove the heat shield (1b).

5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) (2b).
6. Remove the CMP retaining screw (2a).
7. Remove the CMP complete with O-ring (1c).

8. Clean the CMP mounting surfaces (1).

INSTALLATION 

1. Inspect the integrity of the CMP sensor and wiring harness connector.

2. Position the CMP sensor (1a), with a NEW  O-ring, into the CMP mounting. Tighten the fastener (1b) to the proper specification.. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the CMP sensor.
4. Install the catalytic converter. Refer to CONVERTER, CATALYTIC, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
