2.9L - Right

NOTE:

If the knock sensor needs to be replaced, connect the scan tool, navigate to "PCM" in the "Miscellaneous functions" menu and start the "Reset adaptive parameters" routine.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the right cylinder head fuel rail. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the right cylinder head knock sensor electrical connector (1a) and release it from the sensor retaining bracket (1b).
  4. Remove the knock sensor retaining screw (2).
  5. Remove the knock sensor.

INSTALLATION 

  1. Inspect the knock sensor and connector integrity.

  2. Position the right cylinder head knock sensor (1a) to its housing and tighten the retaining screw (1b) to the proper specification.. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the electric connector to the left cylinder head knock sensor and engage the sensor to the retaining bracket.
  4. Install the right cylinder head fuel rail. Refer to RAIL, FUEL, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
