2.0L - Flywheel

REMOVAL 

NOTE:

The engine is equipped with two knock sensors, the #1 knock sensor is located on the crankcase (intake side) near the timing cover. The second, #2 knock sensor, is located on the crankcase near the flywheel.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the intake manifold assembly. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) from the knock sensor.
  4. Remove the knock sensor retaining screw (2a).
  5. Remove the knock sensor (2b).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Inspect the knock sensor and wiring harness integrity.

  2. Using a screw (1b), position and secure the knock sensor (1a). Tighten the screw to the proper specification.. Refer to TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS .
  3. Connect the wiring harness connector (2) to the knock sensor.
  4. Install the intake manifold assembly. Refer to MANIFOLD, INTAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Connect the negative battery cable.
