Removal And Installation: Installation
- Position the upper control arm in place in the vehicle.
- Install two NEW upper control arm to body mounting bolts. Do not tighten at this time .
- Install the upper control arm ball joint into the knuckle and install a NEW upper control arm to knuckle mounting bolt and tighten to the proper Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the strut in place in the vehicle carefully feed the strut solenoid valve wire through the top of the strut mount.
- Install the upper strut to body mounting nuts (1) and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- If equipped connect the strut solenoid valve wire harness connector (2).
- Install a NEW strut to lower control arm mounting bolt, Do not tighten at this time.
- Install the wheel studs onto the hub and bearing without tightening.
- Mount the special tool (special tool #2000025100, Measuring Tool, Wheel Centering) (1) on the wheel stud heads.
- Using an appropriate plump-bob (2a) determine and mark the stud curvature (2b) that corresponds to the wheel axle (2c).
- Position a suitable jack under the knuckle.
- Raise the knuckle up until the height 451mm between the wheel center (1a) and the corresponding mark on the wheel arch (1b) is reached.
- Tighten the strut to lower control arm mounting bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the tension strut to knuckle mounting bolt to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Tighten the two upper control arm to body mounting bolts (1a) to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Position the stabilizer bar link to strut, and install a NEW stabilizer bar link to strut mounting nut and tighten to the proper specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
- Remove the jack from under the knuckle and remove the special tool from the hub and bearing.
- Install the front brake rotor. Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
- Connect the negative battery cable.
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
