Opening Test
- With engine at normal operating temperature, rapidly open and close throttle (rev engine to at least 1500 RPM). Movement of the EGR valve diaphragm should be seen.
- If the diaphragm does not move, probable causes are a faulty vacuum signal to EGR valve, a defective EGR diaphragm, a defective back-pressure sensor diaphragm or a vacuum leak.
