Speedometer Sensor (Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Remove instrument cluster and remove 26-pin connector (Blue). Insert Test Adapter (1594/16). Connect voltmeter between pins No. 20 and 16.
  2. Turn ignition on and roll vehicle forwards and backwards about 4 feet. Voltage should vary between zero and 12 volts (pulsing DC voltage).
  3. If voltage does not vary as specified, check for open or short in circuit. If circuit is okay, replace speedometer sensor.
  4. If voltage varies as specified and circuit checks okay, problem exists in speedometer component.
