Speedometer Sensor (Manual Transaxle)

  1. Remove instrument cluster and remove 26-pin (Blue) connector from cluster. Insert Test Adapter (1594/16). Connect ohmmeter between pins No. 20 and 21.
  2. Place transmission in neutral and apply parking brake. Secure vehicle from rolling. Raise and secure left front wheel until it rotates freely. Slowly rotate wheel while observing ohmmeter.
  3. Reading should vary between zero and infinity as wheel rotates. If reading is not as specified, check wiring open or short. If no open or short is found, replace speed sensor.
  4. If reading is as specified, problem exist in speedometer component.
