Oxygen Sensor

Oxygen (O2) sensor is a heat type sensor which measures oxygen content of exhaust gases. Control unit uses data from O2 sensor to determine air fuel mixture. Sensor is positioned in exhaust system, ahead of catalytic converter (except CIS--E III system).

On CIS-E III system, O2 sensor on manual transmission vehicles is located on exhaust pipe, ahead of catalytic converter. On vehicles with automatic transmission, O2 sensor is located at the front of catalytic converter.
