Checking MAF Sensor Wiring
- Connect (VAG 1598) test box to Engine Control Module (ECM) wiring harness using (VAG 1598/5) adapter cable. See CONNECTING VAG 1598 TEST BOX .
- Disconnect MAF sensor harness connector. See CONNECTING VAG 1598 TEST BOX .
- Using DVOM, check the following circuits for continuity or shorts, by testing at terminals indicated, see CHECKING ECM -TO-MASS AIRFLOW (MAF) SENSOR WIRING table. See WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Resistance must be 1.0 ohm maximum, repair open or short circuits as necessary.
NOTE:
ECM remains disconnected.
NOTE:
Use only gold replacement terminals when making repairs to MAF harness connectors.
