Function Mode 01: Retrieving Control Module Version

  1. Ensure ignition switch is on. Press 0 and 1 (01). RAPID DATA TRANSFER Q 01-CHECK CONTROL MODULE VERSIONS will be displayed. Press "Q" key to confirm input. For central locking version, go to next step. For interior monitoring of anti-theft system, go to step  4 .
  2. 8L0862257B CL-PUMP, DWA, FUNC D04 CODING 16140 WSC 06812 will be displayed. 8L0862257B is the part number of the central locking control module. CL-PUMP, DWA is for the central locking pump. FUNC D04 is the software version. CODING 16140 is the code for the module. WSC 06812 is the dealership number. Press right arrow button.
  3. If one of following messages is displayed, check wiring and connections at Data Link Connector (DLC):
    • RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP CONTROL MODULE DOES NOT ANSWER
    • RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP ERROR IN COMMUNICATION LINK
    • RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP K WIRE NOT SWITCHING TO GROUND
    • RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP K WIRE NOT SWITCHING TO B+

    If RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP SELECT FUNCTION XX is displayed, check for proper operation of scan tool. This completes central locking procedure.

  4. 4B0951173 INT. MONITORING D00 CODING 00101 WSC 06812 will be displayed. 4B0951173 is the part number of the control module. INT. MONITORING is for the interior monitoring of the anti-theft system. D00 is the software version. CODING 16140 is the code for the module. WSC 06812 is the dealership number. Press right arrow button to return to RAPID DATA TRANSFER HELP SELECT FUNCTION XX.
