Installing Shift Mechanism

NOTE: Tighten all bolts and nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following: If Bowden cables are re-used, Bowden cable restraints must be replaced. Apply a small amount of polycarbamide grease into the ball socket of Bowden cable restraint -A- and selector Bowden cable restraint -B-. See Fig 1.
NOTE: The seals (arrows) outside the ball socket must be free of grease.

Align shift housing parallel to mounting assembly. Press shift Bowden cable onto transmission shift lever and selector Bowden cable onto reversing lever (arrows). See Fig 2.

Install drive axle.
Adjust shift linkage. See SHIFT LINKAGE .
