Air Conditioning Switches

A/C system provides 2 signals to ECM. A/C compressor shut-off switch communicates with ECM, signaling that in 140 milliseconds compressor will be turned on. ECM can also shut compressor off during hard acceleration when transmission is in first gear, in emergency (limp home) mode or when diagnostic function 04 - BASIC SETTING. System signal notifies ECM that a higher idle speed is necessary to maintain desired interior temperature.
