ABS system components on front axle, removing and installing: Notes

The following list pertains to Fig 1 .

1. Hex socket-head bolt 
   • Tightening torque: 10 Nm
2. Speed sensor 
   • Identical part on left and right
   • Removing and installing, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING SPEED SENSOR ON FRONT AXLE 
   • Plug connection for speed sensor, see REMOVING AND INSTALLING SPEED SENSOR ON FRONT AXLE 
   • Grease all around with lubricating paste G 000 650 before inserting in wheel bearing housing
   • Press home in wheel bearing housing
3. Drive axle with rotor 
   • Inspect rotor for signs of dirt and damage. See CHECKING ROTOR ON REAR AXLE  .
   • If the rotor is damaged, replace the outer CV joint together with the rotor:

   • Outer CV joint is supplied as a replacement part with the rotor.
4. Speed sensor wire 
   • Attach using the designated retainers
5. Hex socket-head bolt 
   • Always replace
   • Different versions, see Parts catalog

     Vehicle must be standing on the ground when tightening this bolt.

     Tightening torque:
