Test Sequence

Remove luggage compartment floor lining.

Remove cover for left connector flange (- arrows -).

Carefully release and disconnect electrical harness connector - 1 - on left connector flange.

Connect multimeter between terminal 2 and 4 on connector - B - for resistance measurement.

Sensor installed	Sender at lower stop	Sender at upper stop
Fuel Level Sensor G	approx. 700 Ω	approx. 55 Ω

For measured value 0 Ω there is a short circuit, for measured value ∞ Ω an open circuit.

NOTE:

To check resistance values "tank full" or "tank empty" , Fuel Level Sensor G must be removed → Fuel Level Sensor 1, Removing and Installing and the sensor floater must be placed in upper or lower end position.

With sender for fuel gauge removed, the following values are obtained because of the great bending of floater arm:

Fuel Level Sensor G	approx. 990 Ω	approx. 55 Ω
