Emergency Release From P

NOTE:

It is necessary to check the emergency release after performing any work on it or after removing and installing the transmission.

Releasing

WARNING:

The vehicle could start to roll and cause an accident.

-- Remove the floor mat.

-- Pry off the cover -1- for the emergency release and remove it in direction of -arrows-.

-- Pull the strap in direction of -arrow- until the release lever engages.

-- Fold back the upper part of the release lever in the direction of -arrow- to prevent damaging the emergency release.

NOTE:

If the parking lock is emergency released, a "yellow gear wheel" indicator lamp in the instrument clusters and the N will blink.

A message for the driver will also appear Danger Of Rolling Away! P Not Possible. Set Parking Brake.

Resetting the Unlock

-- Fold back the upper part of the release lever.

-- Operate the unlocking lever and push down the release lever into its starting position -arrow- until it audible engages.

-- Install the cover.

NOTE:

P will appear in the instrument cluster and on the Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26- when the parking lock is engage.
