Road Test, Performing
NOTE:
The following checks depend on the vehicle equipment level and the available testing possibilities (city or rural).
-- Take a test drive and assess the following areas:
- Engine: Output, stalling, closed throttle position switch, acceleration, starting behavior (and again warm after the test drive), engine noise
- Clutch: Starting, pedal force, smell, declutching noise
- Manual transmission: Ease of movement, selector lever adjustment, transmission noise
- Automatic Transmission: Selector lever position, shift lock / key lock, transmission noise, kick down, shift behavior, instrument cluster display
- Foot and parking brake: Function, free play and effectiveness, pulling to one side, response characteristics (brake delay), rubbing, squealing
- ABS functionality: When braking with activated ABS, the brake pedal must pulse noticeably.
- Steering: Function, steering play, steering wheel in center position when driving straight, straight-line driving performance (steering askew)
- Imbalance: Wheels, Driveshafts
- Wheel bearings: Noise
- Engine: Hot start function
- Check the horn
- Hybrid vehicles: Check the electrical operational readiness by pressing the EV button, charging function in thrust phases
