Engine, Supporting In Installation Position

Engine Support Bridge :10-222A
Engine Support Bridge - Gearbox Adapter :10-222A/13
Tensioning Strap :T10038
Engine Support - Basic Set :T40091
Engine Support Supplement Set :T40093C

Procedure

CAUTION:

Risk of injury due to the engine weight shifting.

Parts of the body could be crushed.

- Only support the engine when the transmission and tunnel crossmember are removed.

-- Remove the engine cover and heat shield. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the left and right covers for the fender. Refer to OVERVIEW - FENDER .

-- Audi S8: remove the left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Position the :10-222A at the left and right side on the fender bolting edges.

-- Engage the :10-222A/11 in the right rear engine lifting eye.

-- Install additional tools as shown on the left in the engine/motor compartment.

-- Engage the :10-222A/11 in the left front engine lifting eye.

-- Tension the engine with the spindles slightly until the engine mount is not under a load.

Assembling

Assemble in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- If removed, install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the heat shield and engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
