Plenum Chamber, Water Drain Checking, Cleaning: Notes

Debris (leaves, tree needles, etc.) inside the plenum chamber can hamper the water drain. This can cause the water blockage in the plenum chamber to increase (i.e. during car washes and heavy fog). The water drips into the grommet and through the fresh air intake shaft in the vehicle interior.
Preliminary work
-- Turn off ignition.
-- Windshield wiper arm, removing and installing WINDSHIELD WIPER ARMS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the plenum chamber cover and the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to BULKHEAD .
Checking
-- Check and clean the left and right water drains -B- (two on both the right and left sides) Cleaning .
-- Check the grommets -B- for function (the valves -C- must not be blocked by dirt).
Correct any malfunctions (repair procedure).
