CONDITION
Customer statement:
- Yellow steering lamp on in driver information system (DIS).
Workshop findings:
- The customer statement can be reproduced.
One of the following DTCs is logged in the active steering control module, J792 (address word 001B):
- DTC C115C54 (control unit for active steering, no basic settings)
- DTC C110EF0 (initialization sensor in steering motor, deviation too big)
- DTC U042800 (Steering angle sender, implausible signal)
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
The software needs to be updated.
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
New software in the active steering control module, J792 (address word 001B) addressed the condition.
SERVICE
- Perform control module update - J792 (address word 001B) as follows:
- Access via operation mode: Diagnosis
- Select test plan: Running gear >> steering >> 01 Self diagnosis compatible systems >> 1B dynamic steering J792 >> 1B dynamic steering functions J792 >> SVM control unit update >> attach to the test plan >> perform test plan .
