Overview - Steering Column
NOTE:
Always replace self-locking nuts.
Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.
Always replace the bolts and nuts, which are tightened with an additional tightening angle.
- Instrument Panel Central Tube
- Shear Bolt
- Loosening and tightening. Refer to ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK CONTROL MODULE -J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Steering Column
- Removing and installing. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- The steering column must be engaged on the instrument panel central tube bracket when installing (assembly aid)
- There are different versions.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
- Always replace if removed
- Steering Lock Housing with Lock Cylinder and Ignition/Starter Switch
- To remove and install. Refer to OVERVIEW - STEERING COLUMN SWITCH MODULE
- Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-
- Installed on vehicles with "Keyless Access Authorization System"
- Removing and installing. Refer to Electronic Steering Column Lock Control Module -J764-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

- 20 Nm
- Always replace if removed
- Bolt
- 20 Nm + 90°
- Always replace if removed
- Clean the threaded hole (for example, using a thread tap) before installing the new bolt
