Remove the Engine Cover
Risk of scalding due to hot heat shield.
It is possible to burn hands.
- Let the engine cool.
-- Carefully pull the engine cover off the retaining pins one after the other in direction of -arrows-. Do not pull sharply on the engine cover or pull it to one side.
Remove the Heat Shield.
-- Remove the ball pins -arrows- and then remove the heat shield -1-.
Installing
Fire hazard and risk of damage due to a missing heat shield/engine cover.
- Never close the hood if the heat shield and engine cover are not installed.
- Never start the engine or move the vehicle if the heat shield/engine cover are missing and the hood is closed.
-- To prevent damage to the engine cover, do not hit it with a fist or a tool.
-- Position the engine cover, while doing so, pay attention to the oil filler tube.
-- Press the grommet of the engine cover onto the ball pins, first on the left side, then on the right side.
