Camshaft Position Sensor, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

Camshaft Position Sensor 2 -G163- 

• The engine is cold.

-- To reduce the residual pressure in the cooling system, briefly open the coolant expansion tank cap -1- by releasing the retainer -arrow-.

-- Remove the left upper brace. Refer to Overview - Lock Carrier .

Audi S8: 

-- Remove the left air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Disconnect the connector -1-.

-- Lift the clamp -2-, disconnect the coolant line, and free it up.

-- Remove the bolt -3- and nuts -arrows- move the coolant expansion tank to the side.

Audi A8: Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300- : 

-- Remove the upper air duct pipe. Refer to UPPER AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI A8 .

Audi S8: Camshaft Position Sensor 3 -G300- : 

-- Remove the right upper air duct pipe. Refer to UPPER AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI S8 .

Audi S8: Camshaft Position Sensor 4 -G301- 

-- Remove the left upper air duct pipe. Refer to UPPER AIR DUCT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, AUDI S8 .

A8, Camshaft Position Sensor 4 -G301-

-- Remove the crankcase ventilation hose -3- by pressing the release buttons on both sides.

Continuation for All: 

-- Free up the lines -1- for the EVAP system and push it slightly to the side.

-- Disconnect the connector -2- for the Cylinder 5 Exhaust Cam Actuator 1 -F466-.
