Clean Working Conditions

Even minor contamination can lead to malfunctions and leakage. That is why the following guidelines for clean working conditions must be ensured with all procedures:

• Thoroughly clean the connection locations/maintenance openings and the area around them prior to loosening/opening.
• Use lint-free cleaning cloth for cleaning.
• Seal off cables, connections and components immediately after opening them, using seals from the Engine Bung Set:VAS 6122  .
• Place removed components on a clean surface and cover them with lint-free cleaning cloths.
• Cover or seal opened components carefully.
• Immediately remove leaking liquids and clean the affected areas.
• Only install clean components, remove any replacement parts from their packaging just before installing them and wear clean gloves.
• Supplied transport and protective packaging and sealing cover should only be removed immediately before installing.
• Protect the disconnected electrical or optical connectors from dirt and moisture and only connect when they are dry.

Vehicle and Engine Wash:

• During any cleaning procedures on the vehicle or engine, the water jet of the pressure washer must never be directed onto electric/electronic components or connectors.
