Axle Alignment Procedure
The "complete alignment" mode must be selected on the Wheel Alignment Computer if an axle alignment needs to be performed together with the driver assist systems adjustment/calibration.
The sequence of procedure steps must be followed.
- Drive the vehicle "straight" onto the alignment rack. Switch off the ignition only when the vehicle has come to a stop.
- Perform wheel run-out compensation. Refer to WHEEL RUN-OUT COMPENSATION .
- Check the maximum steering angle. Refer to MAXIMUM STEERING ANGLE, CHECKING .
- Check the rear axle camber and adjust if necessary. Refer to REAR AXLE CAMBER, ADJUSTING .
- Check rear axle toe and adjust if necessary. Refer to REAR AXLE TOE, ADJUSTING .
- Check front axle camber and adjust if necessary. Refer to FRONT AXLE CAMBER, CENTERING .
- Check the front axle toe and adjust if necessary. Refer to FRONT AXLE TOE, ADJUSTING .
- If settings on the suspension have been changed, calibrate the Steering Angle Sensor -G85-. Refer to Steering Angle Sensor -G85- BASIC SETTING .
- If settings were changed on the suspension, perform the basic setting for dynamic steering. Refer to DYNAMIC STEERING BASIC SETTING .
- If settings on the rear axle have been changed, the driver assist systems must be adjusted/calibrated. Due to the distance between the vehicle and the Setting Device Basic Set :VAS 6430 , the following sequence must be followed:
- Adjust the adaptive cruise control (ACC). Refer to ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC), ADJUSTING .
- Driver Assistance Systems Front Camera, Calibrating. Refer to DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS FRONT CAMERA, CALIBRATING .
