Valve Guide Servicing
- Valve guides are not replaceable. If necessary, ream guides to fit next larger size valve stem. Maximum permissible play is .031" (.8 mm). Replacement valves have .28" (7.1 mm) larger stems than standard.
- Replacement valves also have a thicker valve head. Press guide pad against valve seat and ream out valve guide starting from combustion chamber end (turn reamer down once). Install valve in cylinder head and check valve recess. Cut valve seat.
