Repair Precautions

Always turn off ignition and remove connectors from ECU when using an electric arc welder. If vehicle is to be painted, ECU can withstand booth temperature of 185°F (85°C) for about 2 hours.

Always keep a clean environment when working on brake systems and keep caps on connections until shortly before installation. The connections are of varying sizes to prevent improper connections.

Mark brake lines to prevent installing in improper positions.

When using brake dynamometers, only use equipment whose test speed is no more than 3 MPH. Follow the guidelines contained on the operating instructions of the test stand manufacturer. On cars equipped with ASC+T or DSC, the system must be deactivated with the switch. ASC indicator lamp in instrument cluster must light up. The brakes must be at normal temperature. Brake the car several times to slightly warm and dry brake disks.
