Hydraulic Control Unit (For ASC+T): Removal

  1. Before removing, identify brakelines for reassembly reference.
  2. Remove negative battery cable.
  3. Remove brake booster. See DISC - 7-SERIES article in BRAKES.
  4. Unscrew plunger inlet brakelines (1 and 2) at couplings. See Fig 1 .
  5. Unscrew plunger outlet brakelines (1 and 2) at couplings. See Fig 2 .
  6. Apply special tool 34 3 110 on bleeder screw. Loosen bleeder screw so reservoir pressure is discharged. Unscrew hydraulic fluid pipe at adapter.
  7. Remove bolts for hydraulic unit. Remove multiple pin plug, and disconnect ground wire. Pull up front of hydraulic unit and disconnect rear. Remove hydraulic unit from vehicle.
  8. Unscrew nuts and remove inside wheel house trim panel.
  9. Unscrew ride level height control pressure pipe (1) at adapter. See Fig 3 .
  10. Disconnect solenoid plug (1) and pressure sensor plug (2). See Fig 4 .
  11. Unscrew mounting screws in wheel house and remove plunger-type hydraulic control unit. See Fig 5 .
