Testing - System Operation Check

Turn ignition switch to ON position. SRS warning light should illuminate and then go out after 6-10 seconds if no fault codes are present. The following conditions indicate that SRS is malfunctioning and an SRS defect fault code will be stored in SRS control unit memory:

SRS warning light does not illuminate when ignition is turned on.
SRS warning light does not go out after 6-10 seconds.
SRS warning light remains on after engine is started.
SRS warning light comes on or flickers while driving.
