Removal & Installation

Loosen shifter handle set screw. Remove handle. Using appropriate trim tool, remove shift selector cover. Disconnect harness connector. Remove display light. Insert trim tool under analog clock or digital clock housing. Slide trim tool from right to left, while sliding out clock housing. Disconnect harness connector.
Remove clock or on-board display housing from center console. Disconnect applicable harness connectors. Disconnect transmission range switch connector. See Fig 1 . Disconnect shift cable from lever. Remove shift cable housing bolt. Remove shift cable. Remove set screw securing key interlock cable housing clamp. Disconnect key interlock cable.

NOTE: Information on key interlock cable routing is not available from manufacturer.

Remove lower steering column trim section. Steering wheel removal may be required. Unscrew key interlock cable and remove. See Fig 2 . Remove cable from vehicle. Note routing of cable for replacement reference.
To install key interlock cable, reverse removal procedure. Adjust cable. See KEY INTERLOCK CABLE under ADJUSTMENTS.
