To ensure the engine reaches its operating temperature as fast as possible, the transmission shifts on the basis of the performance-orientated characteristic curves of the S-program in accordance with the following criteria.

• New start with transmission oil temperature less than 140°F (60°C).
• Time span maximum 195 seconds.
• Up to maximum 37 MPH.
