Bleeding Brake System: Notes

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 21 other vehicles, including the 1995 BMW 540i, 1995 BMW 530iT, 1995 BMW 530i, 1995 BMW 525i, and 1994 BMW 540i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION: Vehicles equipped with ASC+T require special procedures to properly bleed front and rear brakes.
CAUTION: Keep brake fluid off of painted surfaces as brake fluid will destroy the finish.
NOTE: Use the proper brake fluid for specific model year. Check fluid reservoir for a label identifying type of fluid to use. DO NOT mix various types of fluid.

Brake system bleeding can be done with a pressure bleeder, vacuum bleeder, or manually. Pressure bleeding is recommended as the most efficient method. When bleeding brakes, bleed wheels in the following sequence: right rear, left rear, right front then left front.
