Low Pressure Test
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 21 other vehicles, including the 1995 BMW 540i, 1995 BMW 530iT, 1995 BMW 530i, 1995 BMW 525i, and 1994 BMW 540i. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Test must be carried out with the engine switched off.
- Unscrew one bleeder screw, connect pressure tester and bleed.
- Load brake pedal with a force of 110 lbs. (500 N) and block brake pedal with support. Reset pedal support until test pressure is equivalent to 28-71 psi (2-5 bar).
- Pressure should remain constant during 5 minute test.
- Check all rubber parts in case of excessive pressure drop.
- Repeat procedure on other circuit.
- Bleed brake calipers after finishing test. See BLEEDING BRAKE SYSTEM .
NOTE:
Car and measuring equipment must remain perfectly still as vibrations will distort the result.
