New and improved features and functions

Miscellaneous

Mechanical diagnosis (symptom)

As a means of dealing with problems without entries in the fault-code memory, new symptoms have been created for the following mechanical systems; and in some cases, existing symptoms have been expanded. Diagnosis for mechanical problems can be called up by selection of the symptoms as stated in symptom selection.

Electrical diagnosis (symptom)

For troubleshooting without fault memory, new fault symptoms have been created for the following systems, or existing fault patterns have been expanded:

Fault symptom "0000 Latest fault symptoms from online update" will, in the future, list important fault symptoms that can be received through online updates. These fault symptoms are integrated into the conventional fault symptom selection with the next release of the diagnosis software.

Approximately 50 faults and/or improvements have been implemented in DIS V56, based on diagnosis feedback. For information on Diagnosis Feedback, refer to SI B07 06 06 .

Test modules with measurement technology

Test modules that are contained in the test plan but cannot be started (grayed out) require the use of measurement technology. This behavior can occur with the GT1 if the Measurements Interface Box (MIB) is not connected. The test module concerned can be started following connection of the MIB. The behavior described cannot occur with DISPlus, because DISPlus is already integrated into the measurement technology.

Use of OPS/OPPS

Due to the introduction of the D-CAN, the optical programming system (OPS) or optical testing and programming system (OPPS) must be used in conjunction with the associated cable (green marking and "CAN included" label) for diagnostics on the following Series:

E60 and E61 from model year 03/2007

E83 from model year 09/2006

E90, E91, E92, and E93 from model year 09/2007
