SUBJECT

Comfort Access: Replacement Key Not Working

COMPLAINT

The functions of the "Comfort Access" (SA 322) system are not available on replacement keys (remote controls) ordered after delivery of the vehicle. The other functions, e.g. "engine start" are not affected.

The original keys work perfectly.

CAUSE

Initialization error

MEASURE

Using CIP 15.2 or higher perform the following procedure:

  1. After CIP is started select "Load Software"
  2. Answer "No" to "Have control modules been replaced?"
  3. If a "Status Report" is displayed then continue updating the vehicle software before performing the next step.
  4. Select "Retrofits"
  5. Select "Key CA"
  6. Select "Four Keys" and finish the procedure as instructed by CIP.
  7. This procedure will give the Comfort Access system the ability to use 4 remote control keys (normally the factory has 2 remotes initialized).
