New CIP Version Software 7.0

MODEL

E65/66, E85

SITUATION

CIP programming software for the DISplus and GT1 no longer resides on the DISplus/GT1 software CDs (07 02 96 ). CIP software is now a separate program and is distributed individually. This Service Information bulletin announces the latest version of CIP software. CIP 7.0 CDs will be distributed to all centers by update CD .

SOFTWARE ENHANCEMENTS

E65/66 vehicle key memory can now be coded (vehicles produced from 1/03).
E65/66 Telephone control unit (CPT9000) can be coded.
E85 vehicle key memory can now be coded
E85 IHKS can now be coded

LOADING INSTRUCTIONS

To check the CIP version number already loaded select "Management" then "Application" then "Version". The version number in the DISplus/GT1 with CIP 7.0 loaded should read Version "7.0.8".
CD32 must be loaded prior to loading CIP 7.0.
CIP 7.0 has not been released at this time as an online update .

CIP UPDATE VIA THE CD

No previous CIP version software has to be loaded before loading the CD.

From the "Administration" menu select the CD drive and press "Deactivate"
Remove the CD from the drive and place the Version 7.0 CIP CD in the drive.
Select "Activate"
Select "Update" under the DIS column. If DIS "Installation" is selected, fault "-252 no DIS medium found" is displayed.
When finished deactivate the drive and remove the CD.
Select "End" and "Quit" at the main menu and the unit will reboot.

NOTE: Loaded changes will not be accessible if the unit is not rebooted.
