SUBJECT
DIS Test Plan Error While Performing SIM/SGM Self Test
SITUATION
Certain DIS/GT1 test plans which perform a SIM (Safety Information Module) or SGM (Safety Gateway Module) self test, fail or lock up during this test.
This includes the following test plans:
- B6577_60001 Safety and Information Module Supply
- B6577_60005 Self Test Error
- B6577_61033 Safety and Gateway Module Supply
- B6577_61633 Safety and Gateway Module Supply
- B6577_60555 Self Test Error
CAUSE
Software error with test plan
PROCEDURE
This problem was identified via Diagnosis Feedback and will be corrected with the release of DIS V49 expected in March 2007.
Until this error is fixed, observe the following points when troubleshooting.
- If under/over voltage faults are stored, the vehicle battery and charging system need to be checked for proper operation. The Energy Diagnosis test plan should always be considered in these cases.
- Power supply and ground signals should always be checked for individual control module faults.
- Always troubleshoot other faults stored in the Byteflight system before troubleshooting self test errors.
- For self test errors, use the DIS Functional Description documents which provide troubleshooting hints.
