SITUATION

The customer may complain of the following intermittent conditions, particularly if the vehicle is driven over bumps in the road:

CAUSE

Damaged seat wiring harness.

NOTE: The damage is most likely to occur if the seat is adjusted to its lowest position and tilted to its uppermost position.

CORRECTION

Repair the wiring harness and adequately insulate the sharp edges of the retaining plate for the fore-and-aft adjustment motor with fabric tape.

The illustration shows the underside of the seat cushion in the area of the seat module with the electrical connector detached, and the sharp metal edge most likely to damage the wiring harness.
