Test Cable Conversion

SITUATION

Distribution of the following tools will not be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program.

4 Pin adapter cable

Cartool 612 350

This test cable was originally sent out under the Automatic Tool Shipment program (SI B04 12 05 ). It is used to perform measurements on the roof function center FZD for the E90. By performing the simple modification in this SI, the test cable may be used for future modules.

Use a suitable pair of cutting pliers to remove both tabs pictured (1) from connector (2).

The pictured pliers are not available through BMW.

Remove any rough surface (2) using a fine file.

Remove the tab (1) on the male end connector (2). The two lines (3) show where the connector must be cut back through the housing.

Do not damage the pins during removal. The blue plastic housing (1) protrudes 2 mm (2) over the black plastic housing (3). This allows the saw (5) to make a clean cut (dotted lines).

Remove any rough surface (1) using a fine file.
