SUBJECT

Steering Column Comfort Exit Feature

SITUATION

Comfort exit feature may not function after programming with CIP11.

CAUSE

Steering column is not initialized during programming.

CORRECTION

SZM (Center Console Switching Center) must be initialized after programming.

PROCEDURE

SZM (Center Console Switching Center) must be initialized after programming by following this path:

Control modules: SZM Switching center, center console

Functions: Component activation - Electric steering column

Part functions: Initialization, steering column

Activate

If SZM cannot be initialized, it may be necessary to repeat the initialization procedure up to three times. Replace SZM if the above initialization procedure still cannot be completed after three attempts.
